Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) (W2 (H1B/OPT) Accepted)

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)

Duration: Long Term

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of our Oracle database environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire lifecycle of Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, security administration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement robust backup and recovery strategies to guarantee data availability and minimize downtime in case of outages or disasters.
• Enforce strict security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access and malicious attacks. This includes user permission management, data encryption, and staying informed about security vulnerabilities.
• Continuously monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimal query execution and overall database health.
• Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages like PL/SQL to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Partner with developers to understand their database requirements, provide guidance on schema design, and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Stay current on the latest Oracle features and functionalities to leverage new capabilities and optimize database performance.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure the plan is well-documented and tested regularly.
• Collaborate effectively with IT colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless database integration within the broader infrastructure.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation of database configurations, backup procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of demonstrably successful experience as an Oracle DBA.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, security, backup & recovery, performance optimization, and user management.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL for scripting database objects, automating tasks, and performing complex data manipulation.
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, including storage structures, memory management, and background processes.
• Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for high availability (Preferred).
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery (Preferred).
• Experience with Oracle Database security best practices, including auditing and authorization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to ensuring data integrity.
