FABRICATION WELDER
EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Drivers License with a clean record
EXPERIENCE
Two years comparable experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of various components and functions of material handling equipment and material.
- Ability to consistently maintain organization is a fluid environment.
- Ability to weld safely.
- Ability to perform job duties while using various forms of Personal Protective Equipment; such as steel toe shoes, hard hat, safety shield, etc.
- Ability to maintain professional behavior in all situations.
- Ability to communicate English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical computations with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to adhere to company procedures and rules.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly perform work in an environment with some exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smoke, etc.
- Regularly stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, up to a full 8 hour shift.
- Regularly get in and out of a vehicle.
- Frequently use two hands to lift 50+ lbs. as well as manipulate product and equipment which may require reaching above the shoulders or kneeling down to work at ground level etc.
- Occasionally climb ladders to get items off of high shelves or other locations.
JOB DUTIES
- Perform necessary welding in a production environment.
- Assemble and weld all types of racking to the highest quality level.
- Develops welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.
- Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements; ordering supplies and gases.
- Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.
- Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
- Documents actions by completing records.
- Maintains safe work environment by following procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
EXPECTATIONS
- Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm with 30 minute lunch.
- Will work maximum of 8 hours a day unless overtime is approved IN ADVANCE by management.
* Keep an accurate daily time sheet.Terms:
- Regularly – approximately once per hour or more, depending on job
- Frequently – approximately two or more times per shift, depending on job
- Occasionally – several times per week, depending on jobs
