The DV Therapist plays a vital role in a survivor’s healing process . The ideal candidate is compassionate, exhibits empathy, and has experience in crisis intervention and group facilitation. Knowledge of domestic/family violence and trauma-informed practices is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided. A master's degree in social work/human services is preferred, with licensing or the ability to apply for licensing through the MI Dept. of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs.
The clientele of the DV Therapist is primarily survivors of domestic violence, but the individual will occasionally work with survivors of sexual assault. This position works first shift hours, participates in on-call coverage, and works with the team to cover open shifts and holidays when necessary.
